Chainsaw Man is one of the most chaotic anime ever made, but underneath all the action, violence and insanity is a surprisingly depressing story. Denji starts with almost nothing and spends the entire series chasing a normal life that always seems just out of reach.
What makes Chainsaw Man so compelling isn’t just the fights or the devils, it’s watching Denji struggle through loss, loneliness and the harsh reality of the world around him. The more you think about it, the sadder the story becomes.
