I thought Hell’s Paradise would have a hard time following Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man. Instead, this dark Shonen anime won me over with Gabimaru, its bizarre island, brutal fights, and some wonderfully strange characters.
I discuss seasons 1 and 2 of the Hell’s Paradise anime, including Gabimaru’s unusual motivation, the deadly expedition for the elixir of life, the grotesque creatures and Tensen, and the series’ tao power system. I also look at the animation, character designs, voice acting, lack of filler, and why I’m hoping MAPPA eventually gives us a third season.
