LYRICS:
Falling through the ground
The earth devours me
The weight upon my back
Is just too much to bear
Lower me six feet deep
In the dirt I’ll sleep
With the ghosts of my intentions
Nothing to mark my grave
So forget my name
And avoid all recollection
I am the lonely cadaver
Made for the world to unravel
My hands are shaking from the thought
That I’m no longer human
The muscles atrophy
As I begin to tear myself apart
Beads of sweat collect and multiply
Like melting tumors
The blood is frozen in my veins
My body thrashes on the floor
Like a broken pendulum
Swinging backward and forward
In the wrong direction
Lifeless automaton
Searching for my soul
Among the circuitry
Look inside the gears are grinding
You can see the rust from the neglect
But the strings controlling me
Are growing ever tighter
Suffocated by the prospect
Of a life not lived
Full of regret
But the sands of time will flow
Regardless of my panic
Panic
I am not myself
The face of someone else
Is staring back at me
From my own reflection
Where can you run when the sickness lives inside
A constant degradation
Fed by the doubt that will bury me alive
Consuming motivation
A future bathing in shadow
Cascading blankets of black snow
My hands are shaking from the thought
That I’m no longer human
The acid burning in my throat
Accelerates my own decay
Digging nails into my wrists
While I’m disintegrating
The dust inside the hourglass
Will slowly start to fade away
The sky
will crack
And rain will
pour into the sea
The atmosphere
Malfunctioning
It’s getting hard to breathe
The air dissolves
In the barren pathways
Of my lungs
My eyes revolve
in their sockets
While I’m swallowing my tongue
The warmth abandons me
Like a spark refusing to ignite
My voice is shattered in
the echo of the absent light
It’s fight or flight
The strength of the storm
Can be unpredictable
But the devastation is always the same
Broken roads that become impassable
Unfamiliar
Refusing to guide me home
My hands are shaking from the thought
That I’m no longer human
The muscles atrophy
As I begin to tear myself apart
Beads of sweat collect and multiply
Like melting tumors
I’m finding that I can’t escape
This waking nightmare
I am a spectral vision in the moonlight
Just a guilty phantom mourning hope
Floating aimlessly upon the cold night
The wind is dancing through me
I am a spectral vision in the moonlight
Just a guilty phantom mourning hope
Floating aimlessly upon the cold night
The wind is dancing through my bones
